Legion of Honor

We presented the colors at the circus to an enthusiastic crowd who also had the opportunity to meet Our Grand Master Jerry Hanson. We sold coloring books  each day. The stormy weather affected the attendance but it was one of the best circus’s we’ve had.

At the potentates ball we had the pleasure of assisting one of the Army’s finest, Staff SGT Suitcase Hillard.  A Shriner from the Carol County Mounted Patrol who will be leaving us this fall for his Third tour of Duty in Iraq. He did an outstanding job of presenting the colors. He was assisted by Commander Ray Eyster and Past Commander Bill Condy.

The Legion of Honor will be in attendance at the Imperial Council in St Louis Mo. 29 June thru 3 July and at the Southeastern Shrine Convention in Nashville TN. 07 August thru 10^th. Past Commander Pete Harris will be taking the flag trailer to each for the parades.

Several of our members are recovering from surgery or illnesses. Bill Polk had blood clots in his leg and is now home. Jim Matlock is at home breaking in a new hip. Barney Doss is at Baptist south with knee replacement

Let us remember the greatest generation of Americans ( they are passing away rapidly) who preserved the Freedom we all enjoy today and in so doing keep in mind that freedom is not free, The price many paid was High, so if you see one of our Armed force members tell them how much you appreciate Them for their sacrifices. It may be the only chance you have.     God Bless America
